4 tips to improve your menu

Nobody’s eager  to do it. After all it's an investition that comes across as redundant to many restaurant owners and that’s despite the fact that the menu is the first contact a customer has with his meal and it should be treated as such. It's always better if your customers want to choose from your menu, not just have to.

1. Use photos to promote particular meals

Most people perceive the world visually and thus react to visual stimulation. A picture of a delicious meal may very well sway them to make the decision. Some of the conducted studies have shown an increase in sales up to 30% with adding pictures next to the text. Children reacted to picture almost like the food was in front of them

Not only can you improve your menu with photos, you can also test your meals by adding their pictures rather than the others. If you try to make a customer buy a certain particular meal a quality photo can make all the difference.

2. Choose more defined meal labels

There are certain words that make customers react more positively in an instant. Words such as fresh, organic, crunchy or spicy deliver much needed information about the meal but also provide an advanced emotional reaction. Your menu will look more attractive and professional after you add these words.

A bit of creativity can help customers relive the memories associated with the food and persuade them to buy your food on the base of emotions, not just their wallet and hunger.

3. Pay attention to  where the eyes of your customers “go”

Menu should be easily readable, that goes without saying. But there are a few tricks to help you sell the meals you want to sell the most.

Customers have a tendency to start reading at the north right corner which makes it the best spot to place your most expensive “star” meal. Other meals can be in a better price range to make them feel more affordable. One third of customers consider ordering the first food they lay their eyes on.

4. Don’t forget about the special offers

Seasonal meals and special offers attract more customers and make them spend more money. If they realize their time to order is limited it makes it that more likely they will want to try it while they can
